The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has submitted the names of Directors of 30 defunct petroleum service providers to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for tracing and recovery of over GH¢70 million owed to the Authority.
The debt, which spans from 2018 to 2024, is being pursued through a joint debt recovery effort between the NPA and EOCO.
The move was disclosed by the Chief Executive Officer of the NPA, Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, when he appeared before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament on Monday, October 19, 2026.
According to Mr Tameklo, the 30 companies are no longer in operation, but their Directors have been identified and their details handed over to EOCO to assist in tracing and retrieving the outstanding amounts.
He said the Authority is intensifying its debt recovery drive as part of efforts to enforce compliance and protect state revenue in the petroleum downstream sector.
