John Boadu is leading the New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairmanship race with 48 per cent, Executive Director of Global InforAnalytics, Mussah Dankwah, has said.

He said John Boadu is seen as more favourable than the rest of the aspirants.

Speaking on the KeyPoints on TV3 Saturday, October 3, Mussah Dankwah said that personality, discipline, unity and grassroots appeal are influencing the behaviour of delegates in the NPP internal polls.

“John Boadu is leading with 48 percent, Boakye Agyarko with 38percent,” he said.

The NPP is going to the polls to elect national executives today, Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

This forms part of the party’s preparations ahead of the 2028 general elections.

A total of 7,163 delegates from across Ghana are expected to participate in the National Delegates Congress and Officers’ elections.

The congress, which will be held in two parts, will consider proposed amendments to portions of the party’s constitution and oversee the election of national officers.

The election of national executives is expected to be the focal point of the congress.

A total of 7,163 delegates are expected to cast their ballots. The Ashanti Region has the highest number of delegates, with 1,122, followed by Greater Accra and Eastern with 773 and 732 delegates, respectively.

The Savannah Region has the lowest number of delegates, with 184, followed by Western North with 223.

Of the 7,163 delegates, 2,745 will vote in the Youth Organiser race, 1,275 in the Women’s Organiser race, and 858 in the NASARA Organiser race.
