Dr. Bryan Abbey Acheampong, a presidential aspirant of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has promised to make the Volta region a priority for development and empowerment if he becomes Ghana’s President.

According to a statement issued by his campaign team, regarding his week-long tour of the Volta region, he stressed the need to build a Ghana where every citizen will be empowered.

“Together, we’ll build a future everyone can be proud of,” he said at Vakpo. The statement said Dr. Acheampong’s pronouncement was greeted with cheers and applause from party delegates and workers, signalling a fresh commitment to a polity eager for growth.

It further shared how his tour had drawn massive crowds with residents waving flags, placards and chanting slogans.

It said the “I adopt Volta” was a call to action underpinning Dr Acheampong’s pledge that included regular visits, community engagement and tailored projects to tackle unemployment and infrastructure gaps.

Also, the statement outlined Dr. Acheampong’s vision of bridging the divides within the NPP to unify the party and the constituencies.

It said Dr Acheampong’s promise to resource the local party base directly struck a chord with the party faithful, who felt neglected for a long time.

“Under his leadership, he sees an NPP that provides development with dignity to deliver visible projects, from roads to hospitals, to schools, to restoring pride in the region,” the statement said.

“Dr Acheampong talks discipline as his hallmark and has promised accountability, ensuring leaders and members stay focused on results rooted in discipline,” the statement contained.

The former Minister of Food and Agriculture also spent some moment at the EP Church in Vakpo to honour the memory of late party members, calling them “the backbone of our journey.”

It said the tribute underscored his message of respect and continuity, linking past efforts to future goals.

Recent independent polls by Global Info Analytics and the Centre for Quality Governance have all seen Dr Acheampong making a strong surge in the NPP presidential primary, dominating the Ashanti and Eastern regions.
