The son of Joseph Boahen Aidoo, the son of Ghana Cocoa Board (Cocobod), Michael Kwasi Aidoo, has sailed through as the next New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Oforikrom Constituency in Ashanti Region.
After a fierce contest with four other candidates, Mr Aidoo won the polls with 666 votes.
His topmost contender, Claudia Kwarteng Lumor, had 351 votes in the keenly contested election.
The remaining three, Nelson Owusu, Joseph Teyiri and Gyamfi Nkrumah Adwabour got 92, 13 and 8 votes respectively.
Michael Kwasi Aidoo, who is the Pricing Manager at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST), promised to work with all to ensure total victory for NPP in the 2024 general elections.
He was grateful to the party’s delegates in Oforikrom Constituency and party members for trusting him.
He assured them their confidence in him will never go in vain.
