Political analyst Dr. Amakye Boateng has questioned the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) decision to identify potential parliamentary candidates ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Dr. Boateng argues that the party’s proposed approach of “headhunting” candidates does not align with the NPP’s democratic philosophy and longstanding traditi on.

Speaking on GhanAkoma on Akoma 87.9 FM, he said the party should reconsider the approach, stressing that it is not too early to review its strategy for selecting parliamentary candidates.

“NPP shouldn’t be talking about ‘headhunting’ parliamentary candidates. I say this based on the party’s philosophy and background, which is democracy.”

He further stated: “It is not too early for the NPP to reconsider its search for parliamentary candidates.”

Dr. Boateng’s comments come amid the NPP’s preparations for the 2028 general elections and its efforts to identify individuals who could contest parliamentary seats on the party’s ticket.
