The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) and the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) have raided a two-bedroom house concealed within a poultry farm at Ntiribuoho in the Offinso municipality of the Ashanti region.

The operation, conducted by a team of four NACOC officers and three FDA officials, was prompted by intelligence on the illegal production of a cannabis-infused alcoholic beverage popularly known as Famude or Kings Orange Flavoured Liqueur.

One suspect was arrested, while others are on the run, with unapproved drinks and suspected narcotic substances seized from the scene.

Authorities have pledged to intensify efforts to clamp down on the production and distribution of unlicensed and potentially harmful substances in the public domain.

This latest incident adds to the growing number of arrests of individuals involved in drug trafficking and production in recent months, thanks to enhanced intelligence and operations by NACOC officials and other security agencies.
