Management of Dreams FC has expressed gratitude to all and sundry for the tremendous support on Sunday in the second leg of the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup against Zamalek.

Despite not getting the results expected, Dreams FC say the massive gains made in this campaign “will serve as a solid foundation for all Ghanaian clubs to build on going forward”.

The club, however, revealed that the technical team and the players are hurting from their inability to qualify to the finals of the Cup.

“We therefore urge that we offer them our utmost support during this difficult period and rather celebrate them for the enormous achievement in restoring the pride of Ghana in African club competition,” management said in a statement on Monday, April 29.

Dreams FC were beaten 0-3 by Egyptian giants Zamalek at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to end a fairytale run in the second-tier club competition.

They had held their own against some North African giants like Club Africain and some powerhouses like Stade Malien de Bamako to reach the semi-finals, the first in almost two decades for a Ghanaian side.

“Management considers this maiden journey in African inter-club competition a huge success despite our elimination from the semi-final stage by Egyptian giants Zamalek.

“We want to in particular say a big thank you to the fans that showed up in their numbers at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.”

Management has promised to back the team to return to the competition by winning the MTN FA Cup and finish in a respectable position in the Ghana Premier League.
