Para-powerlifter Tahiru Haruna has been appointed the new captain of Team Ghana for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Tahiru is set to lead the team at the Games, which start on Wednesday, August 28 and scheduled to end on Sunday, September 8.
The appointment of Tahiru Haruna as Team Ghana captain is a testament to the unity and strength of the team,as he was voted for by his fellow mates in the French capital of Paris.
“I’m truly honoured by the trust and support shown by my teammates,” Haruna said after getting the nod.
“This is a testament to the strong team dynamics we have built,” he added.
“I am committed to making good use of it to represent and market Ghana at the Paris 2024 Games by mounting the podium.”
With Tahiru Haruna stepping into the role of Captain, Team Ghana is gearing up under his leadership for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
