Parliament has reconvened to consider some five (5) loan agreeements for use by the Executive.

Speaker Bagbin two weeks ago recalled the Members of Parliament (MPs) to appear in the House to consider an urgent business.

The House went on break on March 31, 2023, after passing three controversial tax bills into law where the Nanton Member of Parliament involved in an accident on his way to Parliament to partake in the vote to approve the bills.

A notice of recall issued by the Speaker on Thursday, April 20, to recall the MPs was an exercise of an authority based on Order 42(3) of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana.

TV3’s Parliamentary Correspondent, Komla Klutse, hinted earlier on News360 Thursday, April 20, that the business for the recall could be for the consideration of some loan agreements which time could not permit before the House went on a recess.

According to him, the Speaker in his closing statement on March 31 said he may recall Parliament for an emergency sitting before they reconvene.
