Black Stars midfielder Thomas Teye Partey says he will continue playing for English Premier League leaders Arsenal amid speculations of a move away from the Emirates.

The 30-year-old has been plagued by injuries over the large part of this season.

He, however, made his first start since August for the Gunners in their 2-0 win over Luton Town on Wednesday, April 3.

He was substituted by Declan Rice in the 67th minute.

Speaking to Football.london after the game, the former Atletico Madrid star admitted the speculations are rife but he is “really happy” to don the Arsenal jersey to be on the field.

“My head is always here,” he said.

“This is where I choose to play, I’m really happy every time I’m on the field.

“I know a lot of speculations have been going on, but for me, I’m really happy to be here and to continue playing for this club.”

Partey has one year remaining of his contract at the end of this season and has pledged to do his best for Mikel Arteta’s side to win the League.

“I still have to the end of the season, I think.

“I have to do my best and try to perform at the highest level and I think the most important is to be available every time.”

Partey missed the Black Stars two friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda in March despite returning from injury.

He is said to have asked permission to regain full fitness.
