Scores of angry artisans at Suame Magazine, on Thursday July 14, 2022, blocked traffic on the main Suame – Tamale road.

The artisans have threatened to continue the exercise until the government rehabilitates the deplorable stretch.

For hours, vehicular movement on the main Suame road was halted by these angry artisans.

They say the government has been paying a lip service towards the construction of about two kilometre road stretching from Suame roundabout to the post office.

“We won’t vote again. Our leaders do not care about us. Despite several complaints to get the road fixed, the leaders only pay lip service,” an aggrieved artisan said.

The police managed to disperse the demonstrators and restore order, but, that will last for a moment.

The artisans have threatened to continue their demonstration until the road is repaired.

Majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu is the member of Parliament for Suame Constituency.
