One suspect has been arrested by the Western Regional Police Command in connection with a gold shop robbery in the Mpohor District of the Western region on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
A statement issued by the head of the Western Regional Public Affairs Unit of the Police, Superintendent Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, the gang of armed robbers stormed a gold-buying shop and made away with an undisclosed amount of money, and inflicted injuries on one victim.
Police say the robbery left one person injured and is currently responding to treatment at the hospital.
It also confirmed that one suspect is in custody and aiding the police with investigations where efforts are still in place to arrest the remaining members of the gang who are at large.
The police assured the public that the remaining members of the gang will be arrested and brought to book.
“We would like to assure the public that the perpetrators will be arrested and be made to face justice,” the statement read.
The police are urging members of the public with relevant information to come forward to support ongoing investigations.
