A truck with registration number GN 7408-21 has killed one person on the Kumasi – Bibiani highway and injuring others Monday morning around 5:30 am on November 7, 2022.
An eyewitness says the sand-loaded truck was behind the deceased and othere who were returning from farm from the Kumasi direction towards Bibiani township on a tricycle popularly referred as ‘aboboyaa’.
Upon reaching a spot called Omanhene Junction, the truck driver tried overtaking the tricycle, hitting it from the back and ran over one of the passengers who fell on the road, killing him instantly.
The others who sustained various degrees of injuries have been sent to the Bibiani Government Hospital for treatment.
Bibiani-based Adehye FM’s Kwamena Fynn reports the police have arrested the truck driver and his conductor (mate) to assist with investigation.
