The Ghana Police Service is investigating comments made by the Deputy General Secretary – in charge of Operations for the National Democratic (NDC), Mustafa Gbandi.
The peace enforcement agency says Mr. Gbande’s comments has the propensity to incite violence during the 2024 general elections.
In a statement issued by the police Thursday, December 21, 2023, it says together with the other security agencies, the police will work “diligently and patriotically to maintain the peace and security in our country which has made Ghana a beacon of hope on the continent and beyond.”
It assured the public of keeping the peace and security of the state intact.
“We wish to assure the public that under our watch no one will be allowed to undermine the peace, security, law and order in our beloved country.”
