Ghana Women’s Premier League champions Police Ladies FC have recorded their first win at the ongoing WAFU B Women’s qualifiers for the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League.

POLAS saw off Benin side Sam-Nelly FC in their second Group B game in the tournament.

The Ghanaians had lost their first match 2-1 to former champions of the tournament, Bayelsa Queens, and were determined to right the wrongs.

A penalty awarded Yusif Basigi’s side in the first half saw Grace Anima scoring the first goal to put Police Ladies in the lead.

Sarah Nyarkoh, who was eventually named Player of the Match, pounced on a rebound to give her side a 2-0 lead into the break.

Captain Deborah Afriyie made it 3-0 in the second half before the Beninois got their consolation.

With three points in the bag, POLAS will seek to win their next game against ASKO of Togo on Saturday to stand a chance of making it into the semi-finals.
