The Ghana Police Service has interdicted one Detective Corporal Baba Amando Ibrahim, stationed at the Tuna Police Station in the Savannah Region, over professional misconduct.

This follows a viral video on social media where the said officer is found physically assaulting a civilian who was in handcuffs.

A statement issued by the police says the interdiction is to aid investigation into the conduct of the officer according to regulations of the Ghana Police Service.

The statement added that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has personally reached out to the victim’s family, assuring them of the Service’s support.

The IGP has also directed the Savannah Regional Police Commander to collaborate with the family to address the matter appropriately.
