Jamaican dancehall star Popcaan has been officially enstooled as a Development Chief in the Asebu Traditional Area of the Central Region.
The coronation took place on February 17, 2026, marking a historic moment in the community.
Popcaan was given the stool name Nana Arkoh Kese I and installed as the Aboafohen (Development Chief) of the Apagyahen Division.
Videos from the ceremony captured the musician dressed in a kente cloth, with herbs tied around his neck, as chiefs performed the traditional enstoolment ritual, placing him on the stool three times to signify his acceptance.
Popcaan is currently in Ghana, sparking excitement among fans and the entertainment community. He has already visited the famous Shea butter Museum and the Cape Coast Castle.
The “Unruly Boss” has built a strong following in Ghana over the years, thanks to his collaborations with African artistes and his frequent visits to the country.
