At Pusiga in the Upper East region, nine persons have been shot dead after an unknown gunmen unleashed an attack on two buses.
The two buses, which were on thair way from Bawku to Cinkaasi in neighbouring Togo were blocked by the robbers at the Gbewaa College of Education police barrier where fire was opened on the occupants.
The police have not yet released the identities of the victims after visiting the scene of the yesterday, September 21, 2023, incident.
The motive for the attack has not been established yet but comes after several others following the tensions in the Upper East region resulting in ethnic clashes in recent times.
The deceased have been sent to a morgue while the injured are receiving treatment in a nearby medical facility.
None of the suspects had been arrested as at the time this report was being filed.
