The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has received a report about the rising number of land disputes among various traditional councils under his jurisdiction.
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe submitted the report to the Asantehene.
Otumfuo expressed his dissatisfaction with the development and charged members at the Asanteman Council during a meeting on Thursday, October 16,2025 to find lasting solutions to the issue.
According to Asantehene, the report received from the police includes a list of chiefs involved in the dispute.
He said all disputes relating to lands must be referred to him for resolution.
“If you think another chief has taken part of your land, bring the issue before me and I will look into it. You don’t have to take the law into your hands and resort to violence,” Otumfuo advised.
He promised to summon the named chiefs individually for discussions.
He advised anyone with a land dispute to exercise restraint until they are resolved amicably.
“Don’t push me to summon you publicly. Put everything on hold until I review the disputes. Please abide by this directive to resolve all disputes to ensure peace,” he said.
