Management of Longshine Mining Company has strongly denied allegations by the chief and residents of Gambia Alhassan in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality of the Western Region that the company has forcibly taken over farmlands without compensation or developmental support.

The community had earlier accused the Chinese mining firm of years of exploitation, claiming that their lands had been destroyed through mining activities without any tangible benefits to the local population.

Responding to the allegations, the Transport Manager of Longshine Mining Company, Gideon Ofori, described the claims by the chief and residents as entirely untrue.

According to Mr. Ofori, the company has operated strictly within the laws of Ghana and has maintained a good relationship with the community over the years.

He insisted that the allegations currently being circulated do not reflect the reality on the ground.

Mr. Ofori further called on the public to disregard the accusations, stressing that the company remains committed to supporting development within its operational areas.

“We have always engaged with community leaders transparently. These claims of land seizure and lack of compensation are false,” he said.
