A leading Member of the NPP in the Ashanti region and Patron of TESCON at the Kumasi Technical University (KTU), Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey, has called on the former Trade and Industry minister, John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen to sack his Campaign spokesperson, Yaw Buaben Asamoah.
The KTU patron for the Tertiary Students Confederacy of the NPP (TESCON) says Mr. Buaben Asamoa needs to be sacked for “insulting” the intelligence of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the country.
Speaking on Wonsom, a weekend political show on Akoma 87.9fm in Kumasi with Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin, he called on the party leaders to take a second look at recent comments by Yaw Buaben Asamoa.
The former MP for Adentan, Yaw Buaben Asamoa has incurred the wrath of the NPP delegates by accusing them of being induced by the camp of Dr Bawumia.
The Communication Director of the Alan Campaign is alleged to have said the Vice President is using the government machinery to induce and threaten delegates to vote for him.
Mr. Kyei-Brobbey has described Buaben Asamoa’s allegations as “dangerous, a disgrace to the party” and should be sacked.
He also classified Buaben Asamoa’s claims as “flimsy, baseless and a personal attack.”
He has urged the party folks to disregard the former MP’s comments and forge ahead for a united party ahead of the presidential primary.
“Mr. Alan Kyerematen should jettison Buaben Asamoa off his campaign team. He simply cannot connect and has become clueless.. I pity your campaign strategies…pathetic!” he described.
The former Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, and the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, have been deemed the frontrunners in the NPP’s upcoming flagbearership contest with Kennedy Ohene Agyapong seen as a third force who can pull a surprise.
