Former Asante Kotoko player Sarfo Gyamfi has cautioned against calls to have head coach Dr Prosper Nartey Ogum sacked.

He said it is not advisable to sack the gaffer especially in the middle of the season as that would rather have devastating consequences for the club.

Speaking on Onua TV‘s Agoro Fie on Wednesday, April 3, the Black President, as he is affectionately called by Kotoko fans, said the coach rather needs the support of all stakeholders to turn the club’s fortunes around.

“How can you sack a coach in the middle of the season?” Sarfo Gyamfi asked.

“It is not advisable. What I feel is that we should all give him our support.”

He added that everyone at the club will have a time to come in and a time to exit and at every stage the person must be given the needed support he or she deserves.

“For Kotoko, one goes and one comes, so if someone leaves and one comes and you are against the one who comes, it is Kotoko that suffers.

“Let us all have an open mind for Kotoko to return to its glory. We should rather give [the coach] all our support.”
