Almost 100 staff of the Ghana Post Limited are going to be dismissed upon authorisation of the Minister of Communication, Samuel Nartey George.

The Minister says the affected persons are going to be dismissed because their recruitment which occurred after the December 07, 2024 elections, did not follow due process.

Speaking on the matter Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the Minister expressed his commitment to pruning the Ministry of individuals whose recruitment was devoid of established protocols.

Mr. George says he will not superintend over a Ministry where parts of its staff members are marred by irregularities.

“If you are a minister and you take over a ministry that has 3,117 staff in the ministry and its agencies and 600 were recruited after December 7, you cannot expect me to come and inherit such a mess, and so the rationalisation is ongoing,” he stated.

“Today, I have authorised a termination of a few more at Ghana Post, almost 100 that were done post-election,” he added.

The Ningo-Prampram Member of Parliament further noted that the recruitment of staff without due process leads to inefficiencies within departments in the Ministry.

“Clean up the ministry to make sure that it is lean and efficient and carries out its works,” he reemphasised.

This dismissal forms part of the government’s decision to lay off staff employed into various government organisations after the December 2024 elections which did not follow due process.
