The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has lauded celebrated visual artist and architect Sharon Dede Padi following her historic Guinness World Record achievement for the largest leaf print painting.

Sharon Dede Padi, founder of Padiki Art, paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs after officially setting the new world record, a feat that has attracted national and international recognition and positioned Ghana prominently on the global art stage.

During the visit, she presented her official Guinness World Record citation to the Minister and expressed appreciation to the Ministry and the Government of Ghana for their encouragement throughout her record-breaking journey.

 

She described the recognition as not only a personal milestone but also a proud moment for Ghana’s arts and creative industry.

In a social media post after the meeting, Mr. Ablakwa described it as a “profound honour” to host the distinguished artist and receive her citation.

He commended her achievement as a powerful example of how Ghana can “take on the world and win,” highlighting the growing global impact of Ghanaian creatives.

The Minister further revealed plans by the Ministry to commission celebrated Ghanaian artists to showcase their works at Ghana’s embassies and high commissions worldwide as part of efforts to project the country’s rich artistic heritage internationally.
