South African side Black Leopards have officially announced Ghanaian Maxwell Konadu as their new coach.

The appointment comes in the wake of reports of the resignation of the former Black Stars coach from Ghana Premier League side Nsoatreman FC.

He led the Bono side to a fourth-place finish in the just-ended League and delivered their first silver after beating regional rivals Bofoakwa Tano FC in the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup.

According to a statement from Lidoda Duvha on Tuesday, July 2, Konadu has penned a three-year contract with them.

He will be assisted by Solly Luvhengo with Tendai Tanyanyiwa and Majaha Ndhlovu as Goalkeepers’ Coach and Physical Trainer respectively.

Black Leopards currently play in the Motsepe Championship, the second-tier league in South Africa.

They seek to make it to the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Chairman Tshifhiwa Thidiela is quoted as saying: “We are very happy with Maxwell and we are confident that he can take us to the promised land.”
