Director-General of the National Road Safety (NRSA), Abraham Amaliba has advised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirants to channel their energies into campaigning and selling their ideas to delegates rather than “fighting polls.”

The latest poll by Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Mussa Dankwa puts Dr. Bawumia in the lead with 44% with a 3% drop. In September the same poll put the former Vice President ahead of the other aspirants with 47%.

In a social media post on Friday, October 24, Global InfoAnalytics said Bryan Acheampong and Kennedy Agyapong gained 2% each in the October poll, pushing them to 5% and 19% respectively.

Speaking in an interview on TV3’s The Key Points on Saturday, October 25, Abraham Amaliba believes the NPP flagbearer aspirants must engage with the delegates on the grounds to change the narrative of the polls rather than “fight the statistics.”

“I think that instead of fighting the statistics, the NPP and for that matter the aspirants should rather focus on their campaigns and leave these statistics to speak for themselves but on the ground, they can change things rather than appearing to be fighting what Musa Dankwa is doing.

“There is no need to fight statistics, what you can do is to meet the delegates and turn over things,” he stressed.

The flagbearer race is expected to intensify in the coming months as aspirants continue nationwide campaign to court delegates and lay out their visions for Ghana.

Per the party’s timetable, the flagbearer election has been scheduled for January 31 next year, with a possible run-off on February 14.
