Thomas Tuchel may very well be one of the best managers in the world right now.

We know that might be a bold claim to make about someone who currently is without a club, but with the current state of Chelsea since his exit in September, that only further strengthens the case in his favour.

Could a potential move to Real Madrid be in the German tactician’s future?

In his time at Chelsea, Tuchel guided the Blues to triumphs in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup, all in only a season and a half. In addition to those trophies, he took Chelsea to finals in five out of six cup competitions in his tenure, as well as back-to-back top four finishes in the Premier League, and a personal victory with the UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year award.

Since his shock departure from Chelsea, we have seen just how underwhelming they have been, currently sitting in 10th place in the Premier League table with no real signs of improvement despite making a long list of big money signings. Thus, it feels like Tuchel managed to overachieve with them massively.

However, with Real Madrid struggling and doubts starting to be cast over the future of Carlo Ancelotti, could a move to the Santiago Bernabeu be in Tuchel’s future? If rumours are accurate, the German might have an eye on it.

Tuchel to Real Madrid rumours swirling amid uncertainty over Ancelotti’s future

As reported by The Times (via Tribuna), Tuchel is learning Spanish in order to target the Real Madrid job.

In terms of tactics, Tuchel is among the very best managers in the world right now. In his time at Chelsea, he upstaged the likes of Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp, Antonio Conte and Zinedine Zidane on more than one occasion.

In 2021 his Chelsea side bested Real Madrid in the semi finals of the Champions League, and even almost pulled off a remarkable comeback at the Santiago Bernabeu a year later.

In the eyes of many fans, Tuchel should be the next man to take charge of Real Madrid in the event of Ancelotti’s departure. The German should be the number one candidate to take the Santiago Bernabeu hot seat.
