An incident has occurred at Twifo Praso in the Twifo Atti Morkwa District of the Central Region where two young girls, aged 8 and 15, have have allegedly stolen a significant amount of money and gold from a gold buyer’s shop.

According to eyewitnesses, the two girls, who are reportedly strangers to the town, visited the gold buyer’s shop and asked for assistance in purchasing gold. However, while the gold buyer was momentarily distracted, the girls seized the opportunity to steal GH¢41,000 and an unknown quantity of gold.

Their deed was captured by a CCTV camera installed in the office.

The brazen theft has left the community in shock, and the police are currently investigating the incident. The identities of the two girls have not been released, and it is unclear what motivated them to commit such a crime.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:48am Wednesday, January 29, 2025, where the gold buyer, Enoch Boateng, reported the incident to Onua TV/FM reporter Nana Kwame Essel.

Mr. Boateng explained that the girls had come to his shop claiming they wanted to purchase gold, but instead, they stole his capital.
