Two police officers have been interdicted by the Service for allegedly taking bribes from a driver in a vehicle.

In a viral video on social media, the two officers in uniform, all women, were found extorting occupants of a vehicle for GH₵10.00.

After lamenting to the driver for giving them a supposed GH₵5.00 which they said was meagre and rejected, a GH₵10.00 was handed to one of the officers who said “even this one we are considering you”, banged the door and walked away without knowing they were being videoed by one of the persons on the vehicle.

The video, which has since gone viral on social media has led to the administration interdicting the two to initiate investigations into the matter.

“The Police Administration has interdicted two Police Officers PW/Inspr Martha Ackah and No.6233 PW/Sergeant Felicia Ocran of the Asokwa Divisional MTTD, Kumasi who were seen in a viral video acting unprofessionally, “the statement indicated.

The Police have called on the affected persons to assist them take the two “through due process of the law as we seek to ensure that our officers uphold the highest form of professional standards.”
