The Black Stars have arrived in the Ashanti Region capital city of Kumasi to start residential camping in preparation for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

About 14 players arrived at the Kumasi International Airport in the evening of Monday, January 1 to begin camping.

The senior national men’s soccer team had originally planned to camp in Johannesburg, South Africa but this decision was rescinded after public uproar given the location of the tournament.

Led by captain Andre Ayew, the reported players walked straight into the waiting team bus to the designated hotel.

Ghana have been drawn in Group B to play Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique at the tournament.

The team will start its campaign for a fifth trophy on Sunday, January 14.
