It is Day 7 of the picketing at the Finance Ministry by the pensioners who are individual bondholders seeking exemption from government’s Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP).

The former Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo, joined her colleagues for the second day at the grounds also demanding exclusion for the pensioners.

She had earlier expressed her displeasure over the programme asking government to account for the loans it took to bring the state to the level it has to restructure her debt before getting a bailout from the IMF.

When Onua TV’s Regina Akua Sarpomaa visited the Ministry Tuesday, February 14, 2023, a pensioner was picketing with his drugs.

He is a proof of his colleagues who have been complaining of surviving on their pensions for daily medication.
