A former Member of Parliament for Adenta on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buaben Asamoa has said he is surprised the party issued a letter to effect their sacking.

The NPP in a letter signed by its General Secretary, Justin Koduah Frimpong, named four persons whon the party says have forfeited their membership for supporting a candidate other than the NPP’s flag bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Yaw Buaben Asamoa, who was a former Director of Communications for the party was named in the letter with Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, Alhaji Saddique Sinare and Nana Ohene Ntow for rallying behind Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

But reacting to the issue on Pae Mu Ka on Onua FM/TV Wednesday, November 22, 2023, Mr. Buaben Asamoa said the constitution of the party makes it clear, the result of their decision to follow Alan Kyerematen, and therefore came as a surprise to them when the leadership issued a letter to announce the forfeiture of their membership when they were not sacked by the party.
