Authorities of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital have turned the reception of the Emergency Unit into a ward.

Beds have been placed at the reception of the emergency unit with patients whilst others have been given drips on the ground on mats.

Visitors are therefore in full glare of doctors treating patients in there.

Mothers and their wards have to sleep on the corridors of the hospital since there are no places to lay.

Onua TV’s Roving Investigative Reporter, Ohim further reported an amount of GH₵200.00 is charged before an emergency bed would be made available.

He said a victim reported of being denied a bed for a relative he sent to the hospital, slept on the floor the first night until he paid the ransom the next day to be given a bed.

Meanwhile, some beds have been left in the open space under the mercy of the rains and scorching sun.

Ohim reported further that, one needs to pay GH₵2.00 before getting a space to wash clothes of relatives on admission.

The Pharmacy at the Psychiatric Unit of the hospital also opens at 11 am because that is the time the man in charge comes to work.

The rusting state of the edifice was also a sight to behold.
