As business owners develop new strategies to improve upon their businesses, some thieves at the Madina Zongo Junction in Accra are equally metamorphosing their approach.
According to a resident who shared her frustration at The People’s Assembly organised by Onua TV/FM Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Madina Zongo Junction, the pickpockets seem to have attached some black magic ‘juju’ to their operations where one needs to act fast before safeguarding her money.
In her explanation, she said one person amongst a group rubs the fingers around a prospective victim’s forehead with another hitting a different part of the body.
She continued that, people who are taken through this short ritual needs to bring out all their money and tear the tips of the notes or get their money missing.
The act, she explained is something that has been happening even at day time, accusing the police for sitting aloof without mounting any strategy to combat the perpetrators.
The incident, she added, happens to usually women. She was speaking at the time the assembly members were seated to provide response to their concerns.
