General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has advised delegates to consider changing incumbent executives if such decision serves the interest of the party.

Mr Asiedu Nketia added that the party is reorganizing its base ahead of the 2024 polls hence there is the need to ensure competent executives are voted into power to match the incumbent NPP with equal force to wrestle power in 2022.

He was addressing party faithful and delegates at the Ashanti region NDC delegates conference at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.

General Mosquito as he is popularly known added that “if you keep doing the same thing you get the same results therefore delegates must know that if it is necessary to substitute some executives for the greater interest of the party you shouldn’t be tamed or enticed by the petit cash some aspirants are dashing out.”

The call for change at the regional level by the party’s General Secretary comes few hours ahead of the delegates elections.

Right after his speech some party folks described his assertion as a big blow to some of the incumbent executives.

The elections which was slated to have started in the morning is just about to start at the time this report was filed. It has suffered delays amid tension as party folks and delegates were left under the mercy of the scorching sun.
