Voting by delegates in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries is underway after voting ended a while ago.
Generally, the exercise was peaceful, except in Bantama, Adansi Asokwa and Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfrom where some skirmishes were recorded.
Non-certified results trickling in indicate that some incumbent MPs have retained their seats.
They include; Francis Asenso-Boakye of Bantama, KT Hammond of Adansi Asokwa, Dr Stephen Amoah for Nhyiaeso, Henry Quartey of Ayawaso Central and Ursula Owusu Ekuful of Ablekuma West.
COP Alex Mensah is reported to have lost his bid to win the Bekwai seat which was relinquished by the current First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu.
The elections took place in 104 constituencies where the NPP has incumbent MPs.
