Iddrisu Ibrahim, a final-year student of the Wa T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School (Wa Amass) is in critical condition after being stabbed during a confrontation on campus.
Reports indicate Iddrisu, also known as Lincoln, had a heated argument with his colleague final-year student, Hafis, popularly known as Baayawa, on Tuesday night, July 22, 2025, leading to the stabbing.
Lincoln, the victim, a third-year Agricultural Science student from Bulenga, according to eyewitnesses, reportedly took a video of Hafis without his consent.
Hafis, also a third-year student from Bawku, pursuing General Arts, demanded that Lincoln deletes the video. Lincoln refused and Hafis allegedly threatened to stab him if he doesn’t.
Lincoln dismissed the threats and dared Hafis to stab him, according to eyewitnesses. The situation took a violent turn when Hafis allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Lincoln in the rib and stomach area.
Hafis attempted to escape after the attack, but news of the stabbing spread across the campus quickly, with a group of students mobilising quickly to retaliate the act. The timely arrival of the police saved the situation, preventing further violent incidents on the campus.
Hafis was arrested by the police and taken to custody for questioning. Despite his injuries, Lincoln managed to stagger from the hostel area toward the school library before collapsing.
“When Lincoln came out, the knife was still stuck in him. Some students removed it before rushing him to the hospital,” said a female student who witnessed the incident.
Lincoln is currently receiving treatment at the Wa Regional Hospital, where his condition is described as critical but stable.
Investigations are ongoing with security reinforcement on campus to prevent further violence. Meanwhile, the school’s authorities are yet to issue a statement on the matter.
