Reports reaching OnuaOnline indicate that a middle-aged man identified as Abdul-Malik Azenbe, has been fatally shot and killed by unknown assailants.
The unknown assailants who perpetuated the act on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, according to reports, shot the man at his residence in Asawaase F-Line, near the community centre.
According to eyewitnesses, two men, around 8:40pm, arrived with motorbikes, wielding an AK-47 rifle, and opened fire on the man and fled the scene afterwards.
He was rushed to the Manhyia District Hospital and later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, paid a visit to the crime scene, where two empty shells suspected to be from the AK-47 assault riffle were recovered and documented.
A statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs Unit of the Ashanti Police Command, DSP Godwin Ahianyo, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, says the police are pursuing the perpetrators and will bring them to book once they are found.
