*Weed-Smokers complain of Economic Hardship*

Weed smokers have decried the current economic hardship in the country, and called on government to address the situation.

Some respondents in separate interviews with Akoma FM’s Kwame Yeboah said the current economic hardship in the country has adversely affected the cost of essential goods and services.

They want government to do something about the economy to revert the rise in weed prices to relieve them off the extra cost they bear in satisfying their desire.

According to them, the effect of the economic recession has brought untold hardship, making cost of living unbearable for many citizens.

They called on the NPP government to take urgent actions to address the economic downturn to ameliorate the suffering of the people, especially the ordinary citizens.

They say a roll of weed and prices of commodities are on steady increase due to the depreciation of the Cedi.

“Now it is very expensive. We used to purchase it for GH₵25.00 but now it’s GH₵30.00 before we buy matches, graphic (paper) and sieve it after rolling which would whisk some away. So by the time we finish, it’ll be left with small,” a smoker lamented.

Another smoker also said “now the weed is very expensive because initially you could smoke just one and be okay but now 10 is not even enough. Now they don’t roll one Cedi anymore.”

“The ‘wee’ is very expensive now. The sellers have increased their prices. They say the economy is hard now,” a guy who also smokes indicated.
