Captain Smart is livid all Presidents in the Fourth Republic have abandoned the Volta Region over the years, asking asking President Akufo-Addo particularly, why he is “joking with the people of the Volta Region.”
His vituperations stem from Keta Port Project which is harbouring snakes after a $500 million bond was raised by the Finance minister on the the project.
Meanwhile government say it has spent GH₵4.1million on the project whilst the entire edifice is a one storey C-shaped container that has been abandoned in the bush to harbour reptiles.
A visit to the site by the Maakye team during the Anlo Hogbetsotso Festival revealed the project has seen no upgrade after the containers were painted some months ago.
The project, before its establishment has a Managing Director who allegedly receives GH₵87,000.00 as monthly salary.
Also, 30 other people have been employed to work under the MD totalling 31 employees whilst the project has not been in operation.
The persons have been receiving salaries from October 2019 till now, making Captain Smart describe the development as an insult to the Awɔmefia of Anlo state, Togbe Sri III.
“This is an insult to Togbe Sri III and the entire Volta region. How can you be this callous, how can you be this heartless? If you want.to rear snakes, we can import some for you,” he fumed.
