Founder and President of IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, Franklin Cudjoe, has asked President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to take inspiration from Pep Guardiola to govern the state.

According to Mr. Cudjoe, the Manager for Manchester City, has, over some time now, exhibited true qualities of leadership that President Akufo-Addo will benefit from if he takes a cue from him.

During a game-week 20 match for the defending champions of the English Premier League Saturday, January 13, 2024, Man City were trailing by 2 goals to 1 in the first half when Newcastle United equalised a Bernardo Silva opener and added another in two minutes.

Guardiola made a substitution and brought on his captain, Kevin De Bruyne, who made his first appearance for the season due to injury, for Silva on the 69th minute and equalised for City after 5 minutes on the pitch.

The Belgian international set another up a minute into injury time to put the defending champions ahead to steal all 3 points from their hosts, Newcastle United.

In a post on social media, the IMANI boss extoled Guardiola’s managerial prowess in tough times, asking President Akufo-Addo to emulate.

According to Franklin Cudjoe, the President could do himself a lot of good if he reshuffles many of his appointees who have proven beyond time, their incompetence, in the offices bequeathed to them.

Find below the post which advised the President to, if for nothing at all, learn from the manager of Tottenham Hotspurs, the team Akufo-Addo himself adores in the Premier League.

Franklin Cudjoe’s call is the latest among numerous ones that have come for the President to make changes in his appointees.

Many believe some of them, especially his ministers, have not performed up to task, and must be reshuffled.

In July 2022, a group in the New Patriotic Party asked the President to make a reshuffle but to no avail.

Another call came in August 2022 before some Members of Parliament from the NPP staged a protest in the party for the President to sack the Finance Minister if he didn’t resign.

The General Secretary of the party, Justin Koduah Frimpong, in December 2023 asked the President to consider making some changes in his appointments.

However, all the calls have fallen in deaf ears.
