Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has assured all the defeated candidates in the just-ended delegates’ conference of the NPP that there is work for them to do in the campaign ahead of the 2028 general elections.
He said nobody will be left behind.
Addressing the gathering in Kuamsi on Saturday, October 4, Dr Bawumia said, “You will be part of the campaign in 2028; there is work for everybody, and we are going to involve everybody.
“Winning in 2028 will require unity; it will not be an easy election; we will have to work harder; we must work harder.”
Also, the newly elected national chairman, John Boadu, assured to lead a renewed NPP going into the next general elections
He said the new executives will serve the NPP with humility and work with every branch of the party.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected executives during the NPP’s delegate conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, he said “Our task is to build a renewed NPP, one that listens and consults more. We are going to work closely with regional executives, constituents, external branches, and our MPs led by Afenyo-Markin,” he said.
The other elected executives are Daniel Titus Glover, elected National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party.
Mavis Hawa Koomson has been elected as the national women’s organiser of the New Patriotic Party.
They were elected during the party’s delegate conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3.
Yakubu Abanga was also elected national youth organiser.
Justin Kodua Frimpong was reelected as General Secretary of the NPP.
Mr Kodua secured victory with 4486 votes in the hotly contested internal election at the NPP.
Former Member of Parliament for Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, followed with 1340, while Eugene Boakye Antwi had 162 and Dr Charles Dwamena polled 126 votes.
Abanga Fuseini Yakubu was also elected the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party.
He emerged victorious in a keenly contested election held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026, as the party elected new national executives to oversee its affairs.
Abanga Fuseini polled 1550 votes to defeat five other aspirants who contested the position. They were Alfred Kumi Ababio 25; Vera Oye Bram-Larbi 44; Michael Osei Boateng 78; Clement Opoku Gyamfi 631; and Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah, the then Deputy National Youth Organiser, polled 46.
