Chiefs and people of Akyem Aduasa, Apoli Ningo Adwinase and Beposo in the Birim South district of the Eastern region have expressed joy over an ongoing reshaping of deplorable roads in the area.

The people who are mostly farmers are thrilled by the project as they anticipate the road to help end their post-harvest losses.

Whenever there is downpour, the poor road network poses threat to residents of Akyem Aduasa, Apoli Ningo Adwinase, Kroboase, Yawsawuro, Akorte and Beposo all in the Birim South district.

Farmers have suffered post-harvest losses for decades as attempts to get the assembly reshape the road have proved futile.

They have asserted that the Member of Parliament for Akyem Swedru, Kennedy Osei Nyarko, who doubles as the Chairman of the Select Committee on Roads and Transport appears to have no plan to lobby for the construction of the roads to mitigate the impact on farming.

However, a philanthropist who hails from the area Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem has funded the reshaping of the roads to bring relief to the people.

Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem speaking to Onua news has indicated that the move forms part of his social responsibilities and has pledged to use his resources to support the community.

He underscored the need for other opinion leaders to support their various communities since the government alone cannot solve the problems in the road sector.

”I was touched by the frustration of the people when I visited the area and decided to finance the reshaping project to bring relief to the people,” he told OnuaOnline.
