Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex 1996 have denied reports of the transfer of Deputy Captain Emmanuel Keyekeh to Tanzanian outfit Singida Black Stars.

The reports on Wednesday suggested that the recently crowned Home-based Footballer of the Year at the Ghana Football Awards had signed a three-year deal with the Stars.

He is said to have even featured in a game against APR of Rwanda in the CECAFA Kagame Cup.

But in a statement issued by the General Manager of FC Samartex, Edmund Ackah, on Wednesday, there has not been any such transfer.

“The midfielder continues to be under a valid contract with us and remains an integral part of our team.”

FC Samartex said the only player to have been transferred so far is Seidu Dauda Yussif.

The Samreboi-based side assured their supporters to remain calm “as all matters are being handled with utmost careĀ  and diligence, and the management is diligently preparing for the upcoming season”.

FC Samartex started pre-season last week.

They are scheduled to play in the preliminary round of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League.
