John Dramani Mahama has likened the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration to the Biblical parable of the talents told by Jesus Christ to his disciples.
He says the performance of the government is even worse than what the last amongst the servants did as explained by Jesus.
Quoting “Matthew 25:14-30 – tells one of the parables of Jesus Christ – “The Parable of the Talents”, John Mahama held that the NPP’s treatment of the nation’s resources is worse than the servant who buried his talent and returned same to the master.
He says President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia have both gambled with the nation’s resources and plunged the nation into debt, something worse than what the last servant did according to the parable of the talents.
He explained that Ghana was supposed to be on a pedestal which should have been better than where it is today, looking at the amount of revenue obtained by this administration, which according to Mahama is far above what all governments have received in the history of this nation.
“This parable teaches us to invest whatever is put in our care wisely for the benefit of our master. The master in this case is the people of Ghana. This administration is akin to the last servant, who buried the talent that was given to him and returned the same talent to his master upon his return.
“In the case of Akufo Addo/Bawumia and their cabal, they did not bury the talents given to them by the people of Ghana and return them to us. They gambled with the talents we gave them and landed the people of Ghana in a huge debt,” he explained.
