An unidentified young man believed to be in his mid-twenties has been lynched by some unknown assailants at Kpong Promise Land near Ashaiman in the Kpong Katamanso municipality of the Greater Accra region.
An eyewitness, Christopher Kwasie a.k.a. Osikani Zoro, who spoke to OnuaOnline said the deceased was found dead in the area Thursday morning, December 12, 2024, with some household items including television set and a standing fan beside him.
Also with him were folded clothes, bedspreads, and a ‘yam’ mobile phone.
He said they suspected the deceased might have stolen the items in his custody leading to his killing by the unknown community members.
Residents of Kpong Promise Land, according to the eyewitness, have been complaining about frequent thefts in the area leaving the people in danger.
He disclosed that, although no resident has reported of any stolen belongings since the body was discovered, an information centre in the area reported of someone’s missing items two weeks ago.
The body which was burnt upon discovery has been picked up by the police.
