OnuaOnline has intercepted a confidential letter from the presidency requesting Parliament to approve the nomination of 10 persons as Regional Ministers.

Addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, the list of the nominees forms part of the President’s pledge to name all his ministers within 14 days after swearing in.

The latest list intercepted by OnuaOnline makes it 13, the total number of ministers named so far, after names of three persons were released to occupy three key ministries.

The Appointments Committee of Parliament on Monday, January 13, 2025, vetted the first three Minister-designates who will assume their respective roles and begin work after their approval.

Meanwhile, names of the 10 persons intercepted by our outfit are as follows:

The nominated persons will equally undergo a vetting process by the Appointments Committee of Parliament to ascertain their qualification and competence before being approved for the roles.

Find below a brief profile about the 10 nominated persons:

James Gunu (Volta Region): He is known for his grassroots mobilisation and experience in local government administration.
John Ali Adolf (Northern Region): A well-known figure with experience in local governance, also the current Northern Regional chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Linda Ocloo, MP (Greater Accra Region): Currently a sitting Member of Parliament, Ocloo is expected to bring legislative experience to the regional governance structure.
Ibrahim Tia (North East Region): He is the current regional secretary of the NDC in the region.
John Kwadwo Gyapong (Oti Region): A regional chairman of the NDC, Gyapong has extensive experience in party organisation and local governance.
Dr. Frank Amoakoahene (Ashanti Region): A respected medical practitioner, Dr. Amoakoahene has been involved in community health projects across the Ashanti Region.
Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey (Eastern Region): Mrs. Awatey is an educationist, well-recognised for her work in gender advocacy and youth empowerment. She is also the Regional Deputy Women Organizer of the NDC in the region.
Akamugri Donatus Atanga (Upper East Region): Donatus Atanga is a seasoned politician and former DCE. He has been instrumental in promoting peace and stability in the Upper East Region and has spearheaded numerous development projects.
Charity Gardiner (Ahafo Region): An entrepreneur and advocate for women’s empowerment. Madam Gardiner is known for her work in the agricultural sector.
Salisu Bi-Awuribe (Savannah Region): A legal practitioner with experience in conflict mediation. Bi-Awuribe has worked closely with local chiefs and opinion leaders to promote peace in the Savannah Region.
