A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant, Alfred Ababio Kumi, widely known as Adenta Kumi, who was arrested by officials of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) has been released.

He was released late in the late evening of Friday, May 23.

Adenta Kumi he was arrested at dawn on Friday over a petition he submitted to President John Mahama concerning the five-member committee investigating the removal of the Chief Justice.

He was held in the custody of the BNI throughout the day.

News of his release was announced by the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justine Frimpong Koduah on his Facebook page.

“Many thanks to all the patriots who showed up at NIB. ADENTA KUMI has been released,” he posted.

“Indeed, in unity lies strength,” he added.

 

 

Later, the Minority Leader, Alexander Afennyo-Markin posted photos of himself and Adenta Kumi on Facebook.
