Member of Parliament-elect for Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn, has condemned incidents of violence that marred the electoral process in her constituency, calling for a complete end to political violence in Ghana’s democratic journey.

Speaking to Johnnie Hughes on 3FM Sunrise, days after tensions escalated in parts of Ablekuma North during the rerun in 19 polling stations, Ewurabena expressed regret over the reported attacks on journalists and some NPP bigwigs and extended an apology to all victims, regardless of their political affiliation.

” Regardless of who was attacked, I think electoral violence should be ruled out of our processes. I am sorry this had to happen to my fellow Ghanaians. I do apologise for the attack on anyone who was a victim,” she said on July 14.

The MP-Elect pledged to deliver strong, fair, and committed representation for her constituents in Parliament, promising that their concerns would no longer go unheard.

“I am not going to take the people of Ablekuma North for granted. It’s taken hard work to get here. Ablekuma North will have its fair share of good representation in Parliament and a voice that will channel their issues,” she added.

Ewurabena Aubynn says her top priority is to empower the youth with jobs and entrepreneurial skills, offering a bold stance against the entrenched culture of vote-buying in Ghanaian politics.

“I have a huge responsibility on my shoulders to provide the youth with jobs, startup skills, so that they do not have to wait for another four years for someone to give them GHC50 to vote for them.” The MP-Elect explained.

Ewurabena Aubynn won the Ablekuma North Constituency after a keen contest by the NPP’s Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie.
