A Trotro driver has driven into the fence wall of former President Akufo-Addo’s residence in Nima.
It is not yet clear what may have caused the accident which occurred in the evening of July 16.
However, eyewitnesses suspect the green Trotro vehicle may have experienced a brake failure, thus veered off the street and hit the fence wall.
Three individuals have allegedly been injured due to the accident and rushed to the hospital.
“One of the injured individuals is the mate. He was coughing blood. The incident happened around 7:30pm,” an eyewitness recounted.
Onuaonline’s Jackson Kpodo reports that the driver is currently at the Nima Police Station and is being interrogated.
The residence, located near the Nima Police station, is in a high traffic zone.
Vehicles that ply Nima-Accra, Nima-Osu, and Nima to Nkrumah Circle all use that route.
This accident raises a security issue as there are no metal barricades between the fence wall and the busy street.
